Albany- Calefia Graves-Porter born October 16, 1966, Calefia went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2018 after a brief illness.
She graduated from Mercy High School in 1984 and began working for the Office of General Services for many years. Calefia's dream was to become a nurse which was enhanced by working at Ellis hospital as a Switchboard Operator. She was attending the Capitol Region BOCES LPN program until her untimely illness.
Left to mourn Calefia are her parents Geraldine (Elijah) Jones and Clifford (Rainy) Graves, her loving husband of 26 years Andre Porter, and her beautiful daughter, Chianna Porter. Also survived by her sisters Letrice (Charles) Andrews, Nicole (Larry) Kettell, and Lutricia Graves; her brothers Duane (Rene) Graves, Kiante (Solita) Jones and Isaiah Graves; and seven step-children.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Kearney and Lucille McCoy.
Home going services: Friday August 10 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 58 Alexander St. Albany.
Calling hours: 9-11am; Service 11am. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
