COLONIE – Carl A. Corrin, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
Carl was born on September 27, 1938 in Lancaster, NY and was the son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Birkett) Corrin.
Carl worked for NYS Higher Education as an auditor for over 26 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Schenectady Yacht Club for many years, past president and secretary of the Grand Auto Club and enjoyed racing cars and was a lifetime member of B.P.O.E. in Lancaster, NY. He leaves behind many cherished friends with his passing and will be dearly missed.
Carl is survived by his life companion of 24 years, Florence Lenartson of Colonie; his former wife, Marie Corrin of Florida; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Frey; a niece, Patricia Cruz; a nephew, Dennie (Donna) Frey; two great nieces, one great nephew, eight great great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friends, Frank and June Beyer and his loving goddaughter, Kara Hayes. He was predeceased by a sister, Eileene Frey and a brother, Clifford Corrin.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
