SCHENECTADY – Carl A. Raines, 63, passed away on Tuesday, January 08, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Elkins, West Virginia.

Carl worked for Marlou Formal Wear, Tri-City Rentals, Mohawk Golf Club and various service stations in North Carolina. He retired after 30 years. Carl enjoyed bowling, Bingo, traveling, animals and cooking. He loved spending time with family and friends and participating in many family activities. Carl was strong believer of the Baptist faith. He was known to quote scriptures.

Carl is survived by his wife, Christine Raines; children Timothy , John and Crystal Raines of Schenectady; siblings Lucy Chew of Harmon, West Virginia and Larry Raines of Elkins West Virginia; three grandchildren and a nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 12:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:30 to 12:30 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
