Carla J. Hill

Carla J. Hill, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024 after overcoming a short battle with esophageal cancer. 

Carla was the daughter of the late Carlton and Maxine (Orr) Hibbard. Carla was the devoted wife of over 55 years to the late Nelson H. "Sonny" Hill, who passed in January 2024. 

Carla enjoyed going to concerts, collecting Native American Art, doing puzzles and playing cards. She also loved spending time with her entire family and her dogs the late Ally and Mya. 

Carla was a great cook and had a huge part in raising her grand daughters Celeste and Alexus. She could always be found sitting on her front porch listening to her music day and night. 

In addition to her husband, Nelson she was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Wheeler, Connie Chappell and Marsha Orr Hibbard.

Carla is survived by her children, Anthony (Tonya) Hill, Andrew (Siobhan) Hill, Jason Hill, and Meranda (Scott) Frass; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her sister JoAnn (Morris) Hibbard and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Saturday September 7, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will be private.
