Carlinda Pompey

Troy - Carlinda 'Pam' Pompey, 61, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

Carlinda, daughter of the late Lillie Mae Pompey was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina and grew up in Troy, New York.

She attended and graduated from Troy City Schools, enjoying employment in the health care field, as well as with Siena College in Loundonville, NY.

Carlinda enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, listening to music with her sister, having family dinners and spending as much time with her family as possible.

Carlinda is survived by her step-father, Frankln Rowlett of Albany; beloved sister, Sylvia Pompey (Raymond McCord) of Troy and brother, Ducha Rowlett of Albany. Carlinda is beloved mother of Gerald (Michelle) Brunson, Wesley Brunson, Sr., Sierra Pounds, and RaShon Pounds, all of Troy. She is the loving grandmother of Juan Rivera, Wesley Brunson, Jr., Govanni Irizarry, Gebron Brunson, Nahula Phodes, Saryiah Myers, Elijah Brunson and one great granddaughter, Harmony Rivera. Carlinda is the second mother and gradmother to her nieces, Michelle (Roger) Cesare, Jr., Kareesa Pompey, Lexus Pompey and Nyesha "Nina" Pompey, all of Troy; three great nieces and one great nephew.

Carlinda leaves behind two aunts, Ethel Mae Pompey of Troy and Rose Mae Pompey of Florida and one uncle, Melvin Dixon of New Jersey. She also leaves behind two favorite cousins, Estelle and Audray Lewis and many other cousins; four godchildren; extended family and friends.

Carlinda was predeceased by her grandparents, Wesley and Estelle (Ned) Pompey, seven uncles, five aunts, as well as their spouses.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Tuesday February 15, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date determined by the family.
