Albany-Carlos E. Maisonet-Machuca,Sr., 70, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 24th at the Stratton VA Medical Center.

Carlos was born on November 22, 1948 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico to the late Faustino Maisonet & Carmen Machuca-Class. Shortly after graduating High School, Carlos made two of his first honorable decisions by marrying Toni L. Dickson as well as joining the United States Armed Forces.

During the first couple of years of his military service, Carlos became the proud father of Carlos, Jr. and Michael. Throughout the decades of his military duty, Carlos received numerous service awards such as the Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal,
NCO Professional Development Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal & Rifle M16 Sharpshooter.

Furthering his education during this time as well, Carlos obtained an Associate Degree and a Bachelor's degree. Carlos was employed as a Military Law Enforcement Officer then later accepted a position with the Rochester Police Department.

In 2013, Carlos retired from Veteran Affairs Administration and Support in Rochester, New York.

Not only did Carlos enjoy horse racing and Western movies, but he was very, VERY fond of sweets…LOTS OF THEM; especially cookies!

In addition to his parents, Carlos was predeceased by two brothers, Nelson Class & Raymond Class, Sr. and one brother-in-law, Pablo (Ruth) DeJesus, Sr.

Left to cherish his memory are his caring & devoted sons, Carlos (Melissa) E. Maisonet, Jr. & Michael (Krystal) L. Maisonet as well as his loving ex-wife and mother of his sons, Toni L. Dickson-Maisonet; seven grandchildren-Emilio Maisonet, Cassandra Maisonet, Breana Maisonet, Jalen Maisonet, Elias Maisonet, Hayden Maisonet & Logan Maisonet and three greatgrandchildren-Camryn Alston, Emilio Maisonet, II & Aubrey Maisonet. Carlos is also survived by his beautiful sister, Ruth DeJesus and two brothers; Jose (Papito) Rivera & Jorge (Pucho) Zapata as well as his caring niece, Carmen (Carlos) Morales and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Carlos fought the good fight but at 8:50am on November 24th, he entered the pearly gates of heaven; free of all pain and suffering & is now at peace.
