Carlton "Sonny" Dahn, 79, recently of Guilderland, NY passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, after a period of declining health. He was born on March 13, 1942, son of the late Howard and Frances (Sasenbury) Dahn.
He grew up in Blossvale, NY, and graduated from Camden High School in 1960. Carlton was employed for a number of years by Bartell Machinery, before starting and running his own business, Dahn Crating, in Rome, NY. He was an avid and talented woodworker, and a general "Mr. Fix-It". With his wife, Marjorie, with whom he shared almost 59 years of marriage, he enjoyed square dancing and traveling. They spent a number of years in the Kansas City area before returning to New York State several years ago.
In addition to his wife Marjorie, Carlton is survived by his three children. His daughter and son-in-law Barbara and John DeFrancisco, his son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Mary Kay Dahn, and his daughter Michele Brothers, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Vicki Dahn, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Arlene Davis, Marilyn Denison, and a brother, William Dahn.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer to remember Carlton.
