ROTTERDAM – Carmella J. DeGeorgia, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Glendale Nursing Home.
Carmella was born on October 19, 1921 in Amsterdam, NY and was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Patitucci) Famia. She loved her home as she enjoyed, baking, cooking, crocheting and her puzzles.
Carmella is survived by her loving son, Anthony J. (Michele) DeGeorgia, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Christine M. DeGeorgia and Daniel A. DeGeorgia; her brother, Joseph (Libby) Famia; and her nephews, Benny and Joseph. She is the sister-in-law of, Ralph (Carm) DiGiorgio, John (Angie) DiGiorgio, Lorgie DeGeorgia, Emma DiGiorgio, Louis DeGeorgio, Chester Masari and Deloris Fazio. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J. DeGeorgia; her brother, Daniel Famia and her sister, Rose Masaitis.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staffs at Glendale Nursing Home and Community Hospice of Schenectady for their care and concern given to Carmella.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery in Schenectady.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Glendale Nursing Home, 59 Hetcheltown Rd., Scotia, NY 12302 in memory of Carmella J. DeGeorgia.
