Carmella F. Schepisi, 95, passed away at St. Peter's Hospice Inn Thursday February 5, 2009.
Carmella was born in Albany a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Vacca) Perna. She worked at the New York State Police Academy with the Office of General Services and as a clerk at Albany County Hall of Records. She was a lifelong area resident who enjoyed cooking for her family and loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Carmella was predeceased by her husband Joseph Schepisi, who passed away in 1964.
She is the beloved mother of Rosemary M. Schepisi of Albany and Joseph A. (Joann) Schepisi of North Greenbush cherished grandmother of Michael Schepisi, Stephano Schepisi, Craig (Rene) Schepisi, Joseph (Jeanie) Schepisi III and Robin (Jeff) Leahey. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; Nicole, Danielle, Schuyler, Jordan, Peyton, Sean and Michael and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday at St. James Church, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany. Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 to 7:00pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
