BALLSTON LAKE – Carol Ann Horton Marrero, 74, passed away at home on Monday, August 05, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Snyder's Lake, she was the daughter of the late Cliff and Anna Horton. Carol resided in Troy for most of her life before recently moving to Ballston Lake. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to being the best caregiver of her family that anyone could be. Her home was always filled with laughter and love and she gave both unconditionally to her husband and children. After raising her children, Carol helped nurture and raise her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and basking in the joy of her adored grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Juan M. Marrero. She is the devoted mother of Shirley (Mark) Kepner, Bonita (Wayne) Moseley, Juan (Candy) Marrero, Lori (Todd) Frazier and Amy (Joe) Reheusser. Carol is the cherished grandmother of Mark Kepner, Jennifer (Dan) Kryzak, Juan (Kali) Marrero, and Emma Frazier and the adored great-grandmother of Makayla Kepner. Carol also leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Robert Horton and her sister, Constance Richards. Also surviving is her special friend and niece, Sandy Hauenstein and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her brothers, Cliff and Don Horton and her sisters, Ilene Hornick and Shirley Richards.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
