Agrusti, Carol L. of COLONIE, 83, passed into eternal life on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home. Carol was born on February 12, 1937, in Albany, to the late Joseph and Ruth Kaido of Albany. Carol was married on September 18, 1955.
She often spoke pridefully of her time as fashion buyer, storefront designer and manager for Flahs Department Store. But Carol spent most of her life taking care of children as a parent, grandparent, foster parent, and babysitter. She was widely known throughout the Colonie Central schools through her time as room mother, field trip chaperone, and active PTA member. She was also a Sunday School teacher for Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a Brownie Troop Leader.
Carol is survived by her children, Frank Agrusti, Michelle (Paul) Isgro, Christopher Agrusti, Sarina (Pete) Dayter, Anne (Adam) Joachim, and Edward Agrusti. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Carmen, Damian and Aiyden Agrusti, Amber (Tony Messano) Stoddard, Kyle Bolaski, Ivan and Adrian Joachim, Alex, Brian and Eric Dayter, as well as her great grandchildren Demetreus Stoddard, Angelo and Gianna Messano, several cousins and many friends. Carol is predeceased by her husband Carmen S. Agrusti, and her cousins Thomas and Samuel Newman, and lifelong friends Judy Whydra and Elizabeth Lennon.
Her family sends a special thank you to those who visited her in her final days, and all those who extended their love, comfort and gratitude for the role she played in their lives.
Private graveside service and burial will be at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Please visit newcomeralbany.com to leave a message of condolence for the family.
