Schenectady- Carol Ann Anderson, 68, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening surrounded by her family.
Carol grew up in Baldwin, NY on Long Island and lived in Bellmore, NY for 10 years. Recently, she moved to the Schenectady area to be closer to her children in the area and children in Maine. Carol worked at Merrick Woods Country Day School and Camp for 30 plus years as a director of Transportation and various other things. Many parents and children adored Carol and thought of her as their own mother. When someone needed something, it was Carol who took care of it. Merrick Woods was a second family to her. Carol enjoyed reading, watching the food network, loved animals and plants. She enjoyed her short time living in the Kingsway Community campus.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Anderson. Carol is survived by her loving sons Eric Anderson and his wife Laura of China, Maine and Keith Anderson and his wife Cheryl Simkins-Anderson of Schenectady; adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Lucas and Tristan; brother, John Bell of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Grace Holcomb and her husband Ronald of Euphrata, NY and their children Ron and Roy; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Anderson family would like to thank Community Hospice of Schenectady,Kingsway, the Anselmo Family and Merrick Woods Family for the generous support, love and care shown to Carol.
A Memorial Service in Carol's honor will be held in the near future at Merrick Woods School on Long Island.
