Carol Ann Kendall

January 6, 1942 — March 8, 2016

Carol Ann (Petregal) Kendall, 74, of Rexford passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of late William and Mary (Miller) Petregal. She remained surrounded by her loving family up to the last moment of her life.

Carol was a graduate of Watervliet High School and Mildred Elley in Albany. She was employed by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles until retiring in 2006. Raised in Maplewood, Carol has lived in Rexford for the past 10 years. She was the beloved mother of Brian W. Kendall (Stacy Hollander) and Carolann Samuels (David K. Samuels). She was a life long friend of Richard W. Kendall who cared for her during the past few years of her life and cherished grandmother of Zachary Michael Samuels, Maya Grace Samuels and Ethan Alexander Samuels.

She was passionate about horses and spent years riding and working during the summers at Saratoga Race Course and volunteering at the St. Clements Horse Show in Saratoga Springs. She found enjoyment in walks to her favorite coffee shop, her cat, cooking, knitting, quilting and writing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors in addition to her children include her sister, Jane (Jim) Haver of Ballston Spa and her brother, George (Zenobia) Petregal of Papillion, Nebraska, nieces; Laura Petregal Lemay of Kirkland, WA, Nicole Petregal of Papillion, Nebraska and Trina (Haver) Prendergast of Gansevoort and nephews; David Haver and James Haver of Ballston Spa, Dan Haver of Waxhaw, NC and Todd Haver, of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by many other family members and friends. Carol loved life and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

A memorial service for family members and friends will be held on Monday, March 14th at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie at 12:00 pm. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Memory Gardens.
A celebration of Carol's life will follow at a reception for family and friends at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnsider Restaurant, 480 Sand Creek Rd, Albany.
