LOUDONVILLE – Carol B. Swanson, 82, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, due to complications from a motor vehicle accident.
Carol was born on September 8, 1922 in Troy, NY to the late John S. and Isabel Spotten Baker. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Russell Sage College.
Carol was a bookkeeper at Marine Midland Bank for 15 years before her retirement. She did volunteer work at CHP in Latham and was a member and did volunteer work for the Shaker Heritage Society. She was also a member at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Latham. She was a talented craftsperson and enjoyed making miniature doll houses and furnishings, sewing, and jigsaw puzzles.
Carol is survived by her four children, David (Lenora) Swanson of Elgin, IL, Lisa (Allen) Hibner of Penfield, Alan (Donna) Swanson of Glenmont, and Wendy (Rocco Masercola) Swanson of Schenectady; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Nicholas, Jenny, Danielle, Justin and Dana; two step grandchildren, Tina and Toni and 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Carlton H. Swanson; he died on June 7, 2005; her sister, Marion Baker and her brother, Freeman Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155 – south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
