ALBANY NY - Carol C. Crook (Hanrahan), died peacefully with her beloved family at her side following a brief illness. Born in Albany, N.Y. February 28, 1926, daughter of the late Lydia and James Edward Hanrahan and wife of Joseph F. Crook of McKownville, NY. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and a lifelong student of the printed word. Wife, mother, grandmother, friend and thoughtful neighbor to so many, she is survived by her husband Joseph, her three sons Dr. Michael (Tina), Mark (Liz), and Kevin (Lynda) Crook, sister Ruth Shannon, brother Edward Hanrahan both of Guilderland and pre-deceased by sister Mary Collins of Pittsburgh, PA and her sister-in-law Evelyn Hanrahan. Carol's love and kindness will be greatly missed by her seven beloved grandchildren Joe, Michele, Brian, Brendan, Jeffrey, Robert and Alexander along with numerous loved and very special nieces and nephews. Carol lived a full and rewarding life with participation in theater, gardening, gourmet cooking, and dinners out with her loyal and loving husband Joseph of 63 years. She enjoyed following and watching all sports and was an ardent fan of the NY Yankees. Carol possessed an insatiable passion for reading, crosswords and jumbles. She especially enjoyed playing bridge with her close friends. She was a lifelong parishioner and servant of the Saint Margaret Mary's Church and School. Her devout faith sustained her always. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the caring and professionalism of the Albany Memorial Hospital staff, especially the fourth floor cardiac center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9 a.m. at All Saints Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary's), Albany. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-South of Central Ave). Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to The Heart Program Equipment Fund at Albany Memorial Hospital, 600 Northern Blvd., Albany, NY 12204 in Carol's honor.
