Carol Cummings

Colonie – Carol A. Cummings, 75, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice Inn on Wednesday December 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after a fierce and courageous eight week battle with cancer. Born in Albany, she is the daughter of the late Grace Nielsen and Alphonse Howe.

Carol was employed for 30 years at NYS Taxation and Finance before her retirement in 2002. She loved to cook and work in her garden. Carol also enjoyed her lunches with the girls from "The Greeks".

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband Leonard M. Cummings in 2008 and her brother Niels Peter Nielsen.

Carol is survived by her children, Craig C. (Debra) Cummings and Colleen K. (Stephen) Schwarz; her grandson, Brighton T. Schwarz; and her brother, Dennis Howe. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Tomasa Nielsen, Elizabeth Howe and Patricia Schutz.

Funeral Services for Carol will be held Saturday January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private to the family.
