Carol Vogt

October 15, 1942 — February 27, 2021

Carol M. Vogt, 78, of jEagle Mills, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born in Albany, she is the daughter of the late John and Mary (Ryan) Bigley. In addition to her parents, Carol was pre-deceased by her husband Robert H. Vogt, her son Jonathan C. Vogt, and her two older sisters Joan Grady and Patricia Matthews who she loved very much. She would often spend weekends with her sisters and remained close with them throughout her life; because to Carol, family was everything.

Carol began her professional career as a secretary for Iroquois Group before getting married and becoming a homemaker. After raising her four children, she returned to the workforce in 2003. She was employed as the Deputy Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Brunswick where she remained until 2019. In addition to her job, Carol attended church weekly and loved to spend her free time gardening, reading her Bible and sunbathing. Ever the giver, Carol worked at a local soup kitchen where she loved to be of service and blessed countless lives by giving of what little she had. She was heavily involved in foster care and changed the lives of many children, including three of her own.

Carol was known by many as "Mom" and her heart and home where always open to those in need. She loved to bake, and her Christmastime treats were a hit with anyone fortunate enough to receive personally gifted plates. Above all, Carol was a woman of deep faith and spent much of her time praying for others; her heart heavy with a desire for every person to have a fulfilled and successful life. There was no need too small and no request too large. Carol was always there with a kind word, a bit of wisdom and a shoulder to cry on.

Carol is survived by her four loving children: Jason Vogt, Jennifer Vogt, Joseph Vogt, and Jasmine Vogt. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Logan, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Jonathan, Adeline, Lorenzo, and Isaiah. Her grandchildren were her world. She never ceased to dote upon them and made them feel loved at every opportunity. Generosity and grace emanated from Carol. Her life, though humble, was extraordinary.

In the spirit of Carol's generosity, her family is requesting in lieu of flowers that others donate to and share the fund below. Bria is a ten-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with both Lymphoma and Leukemia. Carol loved Bria's dad like a son. Paying forward any kindness would truly capture what Carol believed her purpose in this life was https://gofund.me/c137d36b.
