Carole Simsons

ALBANY-Carole V. Simsons, 59, of Marion Ave. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Valley Stream, Long Island. Carole resided in Western NY until relocating to the Albany area in 1982. She worked for the American Red Cross for many years, during which time she volunteered as a disaster health nurse. She and her husband Andy also were active in dog rescues, involved in transport and rescue from shelters in the south. Carole most recently was employed by NYS OPWDD in Albany. Carole was a kind generous person, who will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Andris "Andy" Simsons of Albany; her mother, Velma Hein of Huntington Station, NY; her father, Robert W. Hein, of Fallbrook, CA; her siblings, Marilyn Cauthen of Vista, CA, Barbara Haerter of E. Northport, NY, and Robert E. Hein of Billerica, MA; numerous nieces and nephews; her special friends Jean Klob of Albany and Pat Borowiec of Buffalo plus Dakota, Shine, Rodney and Hennepin.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4PM on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
