SCHENECTADY – Carolyn A. Cimmino, 75, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peters after a brief illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Rosa.
Carol's first job was as a secretary for General Electric. Shortly thereafter, she worked for various restaurants after attending culinary school at Schenectady County Community College. Carol won several blue ribbons for the many dishes prepared. Along with her cooking skills, she was housekeeper and raised puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Carol was also involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She loved traveling, walking the dogs and flowers – especially roses. Carol devoted her life to her kids and grandkids.
Along with her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband of 12 years, Dominick Cimmino, Sr., and son Dominick Cimmino, Jr.
She will be missed by her children Patricia Cimmino, John Cimmino and Michael Cimmino of Schenectady, and grandchildren Maria Rosekrans, Alexandra Cimmino and Anthony Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in Carol's name.
