Carolyn Balthazar

COLONIE – Carolyn M. Balthazar, 93, fondly known as "Nanny Carrie, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at home. She was born in Albany, and lived in the Albany area for most of her life. Mrs. Balthazar wintered in Florida with her family for many years. Going to visit "Nanny "Carrie" was like a party. She loved to entertain her family and friends. Carrie was the beloved wife of the late George A. Balthazar. She is the devoted mother of Carol Faragon of Colonie and George J. Balthazar of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She is the cherished grandmother of Kim Marie Ethier of Colonie, Andrew (Summi) Ethier of St. Louis, MO, Glen (Cathy) Faragon of Colonie, Gary (Wendy) Faragon of East Nassau, Sam (Lisa) Faragon of Colonie, Lisa (Gary) Miltner of Saratoga Springs, Mark Balthazar of Saratoga, Kenny Balthazar of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Greg Faragon and Eric Balthazar. She is the loving great-grandmother of Jason Hale, Matt Miltner, Mark Balthazar, Jr., Christopher Balthazar, Eric Balthazar, James Balthazar, Connor Balthazar, McKenzie Faragon, Samuel Charles Faragon, Adriana Faragon and the late Jake Balthazar. She is the beloved sister of Genevieve Allen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also surviving is Jennifer Westacott, who faithfully visited "Nanny Carrie" every week. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 9:00 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Carrie's life will follow the Mass on Saturday.
