ALBANY – Carolyn J. Kornegay, 63, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Carolyn was born on September 15, 1948 in Wetumpka, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Sam and Susie (Bracy) Barton. She worked for the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs before retiring. She was a member of the Metropolitan New Testament Baptist Church.
Carolyn is the loving wife of Robert Kornegay; loving mother of Aknetris Kornegay and the late Cariga J. Crawley; stepmother of Julius L. Kornegay, Belinda Kornegay, and Sonya Hines; grandmother of Jassod King, Jarmaine Crawley, and Xazier,a Crawley; sister of Anne Sledge, Maggie Bracy, and Clint Young; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Metropolitan New testament Baptist Church, 105 Second Street, Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie.
