Carolyn R. Leombruno-Tyson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the age of 84. Born on February 18, 1938, in Norfolk VA, she was the wife of the late Robert Earl Tyson.
Carolyn attended Norfolk Catholic Central School, VA, and graduated from Norfolk Business College, VA. At a young age she found her love for singing, and was member of many groups including The Minstrels in Norfolk, VA, Sweet Adelines, the Choir at St. Pius X Catholic Chruch. In her later years she enjoyed a variety of clubs, including the Colonie Senior Center, Beltrone Living Center, and HB. Kuhn Senior Citizens Club. In addition to singing, Carolyn enjoyed a variety of hobbies like Tap Dancing, Line Dancing, Aerobic, Water Aerobics, and attended Wellness Exercise Classes. Her favorite hobby was playing organ, and she took lessons for many years learning how to play the keys. Carolyn would also be found in the garden, working outside, where she would often give many bulbs away to friends.
Growing up, Carolyn worked at many different stores in Virginia, and also worked at a law firm. In 1961, after graduating from the Norfolk Business School, she began work in Telecommunications. Her first position was at Chesapeak & Potomac Tel Co. of Virginia, and in 1990 she retired from the New York Tel. Co., in Albany NY.
Carolyn is survived by her three sisters, Janet (Charlie) Rice, Dian (Rick) Wyatt, and Cheryl (Bob) Jenkins. She will be greatly missed by her cousin Leslie Marciano, whom she loved as a daughter, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Ormondo and Carolyn (Iantosca) Leombruno, her brother-in-law Rick Wyatt and nephew Michael S. Rice.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Funeral Mass begins at 9:00am on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205.
