Albany- Carolyn Bellamy Lester went home to be with the lord on April 7, 2017. Carolyn was born on Decemeber 30, 1948 in Albany, NY. She worked as a public servant for 31 years for the NYS Dept. of Parks and Recreations and the NYS Dept. of Health where she retired. She earned a B.A. degree from RPI, Troy, NY and St. Bernards School of Theology & Ministry. She received her doctorate of Ministry degree from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, Rochester. The Rev. Dr. Lester leaves to mourn her mother, Carrie Bellamy, two sons, Stefan and Aikee Lester, 3 grandchildren, siblings, Noris (Shelia) Vines, Oscar (Mary) III, Ronald (Sarah), Pearl Haggray, Darlene Thomas, Leslie (Anthony) Fiol, Derome (Lashana), and David. She was predeceased by her husband, Lenon Lester, by her father, Oscar Bellamy Jr. & Siblings, Melvin, and Pamela.

Calling hours will be held at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 58 Alexander St., Albany, NY 12202 on April 12, 2017 from 10:00am-11:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Interment will take place at New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer, NY.
