Carolyn (Cox) Nichols, aka "Queen and Rock" 73, of Guilderland, died peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn graduated from Guilderland High school in 1968. She married the love of her life Donald Nichols on August 5, 1972. She worked at St. Peter's Hospital in the Cardiac Care Center.
She was diagnosed in adulthood with Cystic Fibrosis and had a double lung transplant on November 25, 2015. She was so grateful for her donor because without her donated lungs she would not have enjoyed an additional 8 years of life where she lived every day to its fullest.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Nichols, her daughter, Julie McGrail (Tom) her son, Daniel Nichols (Karla), her adoring grandchildren, Thomas and Madelyn McGrail and Rylee and Cayd Nichols; her siblings, Lorie Audet, Donna (Edward) Hunt, Kenneth Cox, and Jeffrey Cox, her sisters- in -law, Carole Cox, and Nancy Nichols (Darci) and a large extended family and numerous friends.
The family would like to thank Duke Medical Center, Lisa Cheney and the Donna Crandall Foundation, the nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Hospice for the extraordinary care they gave Carolyn.
