Carolyn Ogren passed away suddenly on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Carolyn's caring nature and infectious laugh were cherished by those whose lives she touched. Born December 30, 1938, in Albany, Carolyn attended Colonie Central High School, where she met the love of her life, William Ogren. Married almost 59 years, they traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and United States; socialized at Shrine and Masonic events; often visited Maine for its scenery and lobsters, and supported each other through numerous health challenges

Carolyn was a talented secretary to the Superintendent of South Colonie Schools for many years, retiring in 1999. She loved gardening, sewing, crafts and most of all, spending time with her beloved canine companion, Coco. She was a loving Nana to grandson, Billy, as well as family pets Ziggy and Fred.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, William Ogren of Colonie, daughters Lynne and Diane and grandson William Kress. She was pre-deceased by her parents William and Martha Saddlemire and brother Richard Saddlemire. The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by the 6th Floor staff and Women's Cancer Care Associates at St. Peter's Hospital.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 24, at Community Reformed Church, 701 Sand Creek Rd., Colonie from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday, July 25, beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Memory's Garden.
