Fisch, Catherine A.
Schenectady – Catherine A. Fisch, 87, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Ellis Hospital.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmel Vignola. Catherine was a lifelong Albany resident. She was an office assistant for the New York State Dept. of Education for over twenty-five years before retiring. Catherine was an active member of Our Lady of Angels Parish Community. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Catherine is the beloved wife of 63 years to Eugene A. Fisch. She is the devoted mother of Susan (John) Sweeney of Burnt Hills and Michael (Vivian) Fisch of Colonie. Catherine is the cherished grandmother of Timothy (Melissa) Sweeney and Emily (Brian) Fallon and the loving great-grandmother of Ryan and Dylan Sweeney and Caitlin and Kerrigan Fallon. She was predeceased by her sister, Carmel Biffer and her brother, Carl Vignola.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church (formerly St. Frances de Sales) Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
