ALBANY – Catherine "Kay" M. (Sano) Andriano, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
Born in Albany on May 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Giovanina (Paolino) Sano. She graduated from Holy Cross Elementary School and was a 1942 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. She owned and operated a beauty salon for several years.
Kay loved her home, enjoyed crafts, shopping, "The Pool", frequent trips to Las Vegas, as well as her Caribbean Cruise, and her long awaited trip to Italy. She had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all. She was a lifetime member of the IACC where she was involved in the Senior Citizens Club, and the Women's and Bocce Leagues. She was a member of Mater Christi Church and the former St. Teresa of Avila Church
Kay is survived by her loving children, Frank (Ann) Andriano, Joseph (Susan) Andriano, Robert (Deborah) Andriano and Theresa (Denise Halton) Andriano; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Kenneth, Jason, Shaun, Gregory, Scott, Danielle, and Kathleen; her most treasured great-grandchildren, Emily, Allison, Madison, and Macey; her in-law's, Anna Sano, Mickey Andriano, Rose and Jerry DiMonda, and Phil Andriano; and her nieces and nephews, Janet, Kathy, Thomas, Michael, Frannie, Phyllis, Fran, Denise, Michael, Janet, Joan, Maria, and Joseph. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Rocco J. Andriano and her brother, Dominic Sano.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Mater Christi Church, Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
