Colonie- Catherine Carole Uhl, affectionately known as "Twinky" passed away on May 25, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness. She was 84 years old. She was born on August 5, 1931 in Valatie, NY.
Twinky married Paul B. Uhl in 1953; he predeceased her in August 2012. Twinky's religion was always a huge part of her life, and attended St. Francis church for many years. She volunteered in many capacities over the course of her life, including for the Colonie Elks, The Ann Lee Nursing Home and The V.A. Hospital in Albany. She was a long term member of The Joseph E. Zaloga Post, the Polish Community Center in Albany, and the Colonie Elks.
Twinky is survived by her sons: Robert and Edward (Pamela) Uhl; her niece, Sherry (Joe) Sico of Long Island and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Claire Manti and her brothers: Gerald, Duane and Donald McCoon.
She had many close friends and neighbors to whom she was blessed to have known, and greatly indebted to. She will miss you all very much; you meant the world to her.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone at St. Peter's Hospital and St. Peter's Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 1 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 2 at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
