VOORHEESVILLE - Catherine "Kate" Carpenter, died peacefully at her home and was entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 27, 2006. "Kate," as she was lovingly known to her family and friends, was the daughter of the late Margaret and Harry Roderick.
Kate was the loving wife of the late William A. (Bill) Carpenter and devoted mother to her daughters, Cathy and Sue. Kate was born and raised in Port Henry, New York, and lived there with her family until 1967 when they moved to the Albany area.
Kate is survived by her daughters, Cathy and Sue Carpenter and by her loving sisters, Margaret (Jane) Roderick and Eleanor Hughes both of Port Henry and Shirley Sikoski of Stottville, her sister-in-law, Rosemary Carpenter of Winter Park, FL and her brother-in-law, Charles Carpenter of St. Petersburg, FL. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Roderick. She is also survived by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
All that knew Kate will remember her infectious laugh and her ability to laugh at herself. She was a blessing to all who knew her, especially her daughters to whom she exemplified what a mother truly is.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Hedy Migden for her care and concern over the years, the people at St. Peter's Home Health Care, who started with us on this journey, Joanne O'Carroll, her caregiver and to the caring and loving people at the Albany County Community Hospice without whom we would not have been able to continue the journey. Special thanks are given to Sheila, Sister Ann, Deanne, Tess, Carol, Bonnie and Hattie.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
