Catherine Dunbar

GUILDERLAND – Catherine H. Dunbar, 73, of Guilderland, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006 at St. Clare's Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Antoinette Rissberger Kallner. Mrs. Dunbar was a resident of Guilderland for 35 years. She worked for many years at the former New York Telephone Co. from where she retired. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed reading. Catherine is the beloved wife of Joseph Dunbar. She is the sister-in-law of Frank and Mary Sager of Nassau. She is the cousin of Mary Kilcher of Pennsylvania, Thomas Starr of Oklahoma, Cathy Belisle of North Carolina and Lynn Sinay of New Jersey. Catherine is the step-mother of Joseph Dunbar of Colonie, Lisa Dunbar of Alhambra, Ca, Kyle Dunbar of Poultney, VT and Alexander Dunbar of New York City, NY. She is the grandmother of Joseph and Nicole Dunbar of Albany, Desiree Dunbar of Alhambra, CA and Christy and Kyle Dunbar of Poultney, VT. She is the aunt of Frank Sager, Jr., William Sager, John Sager and Michael Sager, all of Albany and Cathy Turner of Georgia. Also surviving Catherine is her devoted canine companion, "Shadow."
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services will be Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Catherine H. Dunbar.
