LOUDONVILLE, NY – On June 29, 2011, Catherine (Kay) Heron Arthur took her place in heaven with her late husband of 63 years, Charles Arthur, who she met while working at Greenwood Company as a bookkeeper. Kay was born on September 13, 1922 as the thirteenth child of Edward Heron and Josephine Mergenthaler Heron. She is survived by her son, Thomas, and his wife Patty Arthur of Loudonville and her daughter, Barbara Arthur-Devlin of Port Charlotte, FL; her two grandsons, Christopher and Patrick Arthur of Waltham, MA, along with many nieces and nephews throughout the country. Kay was an angel who walked among us, her kind heart, her giving spirit and loving nature will be missed and remembered by all that knew and loved her. A truly noble person ,who out of the kindness of her heart was always there to lend a hand, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who taught by example how to live a meaningful life. A creative woman and long time member of the New York State Federation of Home Bureaus Busy Fingers Chapter who loved crafts, a clean house, traveling to exotic places with a backpack and a thirty year volunteer at the VA Hospital in Albany. Her unconditional love will be missed by all.
Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Chapel in Loudonville. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 – south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bright Horizons at Carondelet, 385 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110 or whatever charity touches your heart in memory of Catherine F. Arthur.
