Catherine Landy affectionately loved and called "Sister," was born August 24, 1959 in Albany, New York, daughter of Henrietta Hines and Horace Brace. Sister was educated in the Albany City School system, and later began her employment career at St Peter's Hospital, the Empire State Plaza, and Albany Medical Center where she recently retired.
Sister joined the fellowship of Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church no Sunday, April 8, 2018. She enjoyed fellowshipping with God's people at Sweet Pilgrim and indeed loved her pastor. Sister deeply loved her family. She shared a great bond with her grandchildren, Destiny who she loved and affectionately called "Pumpkin, Tyler, Avondre, and Jaedon. Al of her nieces and nephews were loved and called "Shaboonch" or "Shapumkin," up until they turned 5 years old.
Sister loved cooking, gardening and grooming her plants. She was also great at crocheting and was always the life of family gatherings. Sister had quite the sense of humor and was quick with her jokes. Kindhearted is what best describes Sister. If she only had $5, she would give her family $4. No matter how limited her finances were during the Christmas season, her generosity was extended not just to her grandchildren, but her siblings, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and beyond.
