Catherine M. O'Hara

Catherine Marion O'Hara, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was born in Albany to the late James and Marion O'Hara. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in 1942 and continued her education at Troy Business College. She worked for over 37 years as a Legal Stenographer for New York State Department of Law. She also worked for Williams Press, Tobin & Demph Law Office, Agency of Catholic Charities, Hoyt's Cinema Theater and with the Latham Circle Mall's customer service department. Catherine was a member of the Latham Community Baptist Church for over thirty years; she also belonged to area bowling leagues, was a volunteer for many years at St. Peter's hospital and belonged to the Latham Community Baptist Church women's group. In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by, her sister, Patricia Murray, her niece, Donna Pierce and her cousin, Helen Mintline.
Catherine is survived by, her niece, Royan Breda; her dear cousin, Selleck Mintline, whom she resided with for over 51 years and several other cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 to 12 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to; Autism Speaks, 5455 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2250, Los Angeles, CA 90036 or to the Latham Community Baptist Church, 109 Forts Ferry Road, Latham, NY 12110 in Catherine's honor.
