Albany- Catherine M. Chapman Owens, 79, entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian Chapman. Catherine married George E. Owens on December 7, 1948 and was married for 49 years before his passing in 1997.
Catherine is survived by her devoted children, Kathleen Owens of Rotterdam, Kevin Owens Sr. of Colonie, Maureen (Mark Sr.) Condor of Latham and Rita (Phillip) Foy of Lake of the Ozarks, MO. She is the sister of the late Raymond Chapman Jr. and sister in law of Lois (Gillette) Chapman and Joan (Owens) Engel. Catherine is the proud grandmother of Karen, Mark Jr., Michael, Nicole, Kevin Jr., Joanne, Denise, John and Phillip. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge Frances Condor, Catherine Lather (Porter) and Dr. and Mrs. Stasior for their many years of caring and friendship. A special thank you is extended to Michelle, Nori and Kristen from Community Hospice of Schenectady for the comfort care and concern shown to Catherine and family.
