Catherine Schottenham

November 27, 1910 — August 20, 2016

Loudonville- Catherine E. "Kay" Schottenham, 105, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Teresian House. Kay was born in Oneonta, NY on November 29, 1910 to the late Edward and Blanche Roberts.

Kay was a co-founder of the ARC of Albany after her beloved son David was born prematurely in 1943 with physical and mental disabilities. Her motto was "[Kids are] the future, and the future depends on what we do now".

Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence, in 1967.

She is survived by her cherished son, David Schottenham with whom she had dinner every Sunday.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August, 23, 2016 from 4pm-6pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
