Catherine Stewart

Stewart, Catherine RENSSELAER Catherine Stewart died unexpectedly at St. Peters on Thursaday, October, 22, 2015, at the age of 68. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease. She was born April 5, 1947, in Kinston, N.C., daughter of Mary Holloway of Kinston, and the late Pearlie Shackelford. Catherine worked as a certified nurse's aide for many years. She was married to Willie Stewart of Macon, Ga., on October 1973, until he predeceased her on March 24, 1991. Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. Catherine is survived by her two daughters, Dina Remeka Stewart, of Albany and Lakeisha Stewart of Rensselaer; her three grandsons, Jyquan Stewart of Rensselaer, and A'hijah Stewart, and Jusiah Stewart of Albany; her maternal sister, Angela Blackwell of Kinston; her fraternal sisters, Carnell- Thomas Moore (Lump) of Kinston, Theon Shan of Kinston, Hattie Bell Hart of Washington D.C.; her uncle, Leamon Olds of North Carolina; and a host of aunts, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Wednesday October, 28, 2015, at 6 p.m. Public calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. prior
