ALBANY- Catherine (Weisel) Stipe, a beautiful soul, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Frances Weisel.
Cathy began her nursing career as a Nurse with Albany Medical Center Hospital. She went on to teach a Nurse's Aide program at St. Anne Institute in Albany. Then spent the recent years at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, where she was valued, beloved, and respected by both colleagues and patients alike. Cathy was an integral part of a team at her place of employment, which she considered family.
She loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her pets, long walks on an ocean beach and sunsets. She was a loving caretaker… Who will be deeply missed.
Cathy is the wife of James Stipe, mother of Christopher and Matthew (Lauren); loving grandmother of Hunter, Jaxson and Elizabella; sister of Mildred Villasenor; aunt of James and Marisa Villasenor and close friend of Teri Lomonoco and family.
Due to current regulations, funeral home services will be held privately, with interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cathy's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.
