GUILDERLAND – Cecelia A. Jablonowski, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at home after a long illness. Born in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Palmer) Guilianelli.
Cecelia was a resident of Guilderland for over 60 years. In her younger years, she worked for Sterling Winthrop Pharmaceuticals. Cecelia was a parishioner of St. Madeleine Sophie Church. She enjoyed decorating Easter eggs as well as cooking and baking. Cecelia was an accomplished seamstress.
Along with her parents, Cecelia was predeceased by her husband Henry Jablonowski and siblings Adelaide Kieber, Carl and Rocco Guilianelli.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann O'Brien of Latham; grandchildren Nicole and Travis O'Brien; sister Jean Dolder; sisters-in-law Jenny Stevens and Joyce Guilianelli, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Guilderland Police Department for all the support given to Cecelia for the past several years. Also, a heartfelt thank you goes to Felicia Audris (Cassandra) who provided excellent care of the past 6 months; Pat Peters for always helping in times of need, and to lifelong friend Gloria Agresta.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Memorial calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Food Bank of NENY, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
