Cecelia Jones

Albany – Cecelia Jones, 47, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late prominent jazz musician Hank Jones and his wife Theodosia.

Cecelia earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Walden University in 2011 and she was employed by The National Association of Social Workers in Albany. Cecelia was an avid lover of cats, including all four of hers. She also loved to travel with her family and friends, including recent trips to Jamaica, and Puerto Rico.

Cecelia is survived by her beloved son Christopher (Jessica) Jones, her brother Chris (Cheryl) Williams, and her fiancée Ricky Taylor. Cecelia also leaves to mourn a host of close friends and relatives.

A memorial service for Cecelia will be held on Friday October 18th at Full Liberty Fellowship Church (388 Clinton Ave.) at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the church. To leave a special message for the family online please visit NewcomerAlbany.com
