On the evening of Friday, March 12, 2021, Cecelia D. Taylor, 98 of Delmar passed away. She was born October 1, 1922 in Albany, NY to the late James J. Deyo, Jr and Cecelia N. Deyo.
Cecelia was married to her high school sweetheart, Lewis O. Taylor for 44 years. Surviving tuberculosis, as a young wife and mother, Cecilia became an accomplished seamstress, gardener, a member of the St. Thomas Church choir, taught catechism and was an avid bowler, participating in many tournaments. Our mother, always at the ready to lend a helping hand, also enjoyed volunteering at Albany Medical Center for several years and later on joined the Delmar Senior Citizen van as an aide.
Cecelia was predeceased by her husband, Lewis O. Taylor, her brothers, Patrick Deyo and James J. Deyo III.
She is survived by her two sisters, Veronica Drislane and Mary Murray, her children, Michael (Darleen) Taylor, Susan(Harold) Bowers and Jean(Samuel) Cierzo and 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews
A celebration of Cecelia's life will be held at a later date.
