Latham - Cecile M. (Ceil) Gervais, 85, of Latham, passed away peacefully at St. Peters Hospice Inn on Sunday, March 17, 2013.
Ceil was born and educated in Burlington, VT. She moved to the Albany area in 1945 and married her beloved husband, Lynes R. Gervais on June 14, 1947. Ceil was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 1987. After retirement she and her husband traveled the U.S., visiting many National Parks and beautiful cities of our country. Along with her husband and family, she enjoyed her camp on Brant Lake, especially fishing with her husband. In the winters, they enjoyed their home in Florida.
In addition to her beloved husband of 65 years, she is survived by her daughter Donna (Tom) Parent and son Richard (Elaine) Gervais. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole (Jim) Brown, Michelle (Ken) Blair, Denise (Dave) Pritchard, Marc (Carrieann) Gervais and Cheryl (John) Ernst. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Pauline Covey and Marion Gorecki. She was predeceased by her brothers, Leo and Robert Morisseau.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Albany Medical Center MICU for their wonderful care and to the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's who made Ceil's comfort and peace possible.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10am at our Lady of Assumption Church, Watervliet Shaker Road (Rt 155), Latham. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
