ALBANY- Celeste A. Edelman-Kelly, 21, passed away in her home on Thursday, March 10, 2016

Celeste was born on November 13, 1994 in Albany, NY to Kelly McDermott and Gary Edelman. Celeste was a poet and an avid reader. She loved children,innocents,and non-conformists in all walks of life. Living and loving the music of the moment was Celeste at her most authentic self.
Celeste graduated from the Harriet Tubman Democratic High school and found there, and in the Free School community, a place where she was supported and encouraged to be herself.
Celeste is predeceased by her grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Edelman and Kathleen ( Dolly) McDermott. Tragically, she is also predeceased by friends and loved ones who passed, as she did, battling drug addiction.
She is survived by her parents, Gary Edelman and Kelly McDermott, Her 5 siblings, Nina Cutro-Kelly, Moriah Cutro-Kelly, Rachel Edelman, Galen ( John ) Cutro-Kelly, and Ezra Edelman - Kelly, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:00am.
