Charlene Marie Cole

Charlene Marie Cole, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by her children. 

Daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Daum, Charlene is survived by her children who were her pride and joy along with their wonderful spouses: Patricia (Shawn) Riley, Andrea (Frank Gaisford) Mattocks and James (Beth) Cole. Additionally, she was a proud “Grammy” to her grandchildren Nick, Shawn Jr. (Cindy), Megan (Brian), Amanda (Adam), Christina, Garrett and Gavin, and “GG” to her great-granddaughter, Lilly. 

Charlene is also survived by her sister Joanne (Jack) Tracey, and was adored by her nieces and nephews and the extended Tracey family. 

A savvy shopper, Charlene was always dressed to impress. She loved playing tennis, sewing and card games with her family, especially “31” with her infamous, “Double Knock.” Charlene was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed her summers in Gilboa, NY and winters in Florida with her longtime partner Bob Taft. 

Charlene was a graduate of Catholic Central High School (1961) and the Troy School of Beauty Culture. 

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189. Charlene will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy, in the Spring.
