Charlene M. Plant

Charlene M. Plant, 55, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, Feb 28, 2013 at Community Hospice Inn with her family by her side. She was born in Albany, to Charles J. Plant, Sr. and the late Marlene R. (Purtell) Plant. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Westmere Fire Department and a past member of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad and the Church of Christ The King. She was an avid bowler, a volunteer with many organizations within the town of Guilderland and was well known for her big smile as she drove for the Guilderland School District as a bus driver for many years.

Charlene was one of ten children and in addition to her father is survived by her sisters and brothers, Patty (Carl) Fink, Jim (Georgine) Plant, Cathy (Walt) Vivenzio, Chuck (Donna Herbst) Plant, Paul (Cheryl Mead) Plant, Ray (Kathy) Plant, Kenny (Laura) Plant, Bobby (Brandy) Plant and Steven (Missy) Plant. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to NBT Bank c/o Cooper Lare Fund 5 New Karner Road, Guilderland, NY 12084 in Charlene's memory.

A Memorial service for Charlene will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, at 2:00 p.m. Calling hours will precede the service from 12 to 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the privacy of the family.
