Colonie, NY – Charles B. Boulton, 80, passed away Wednesday November 5, 2008. Formally of Rensselaer, he was born in Gerard, Ohio February 6, 1928 a son to the late William and Ediemia Boulton. He and his mother moved to Rensselaer after the death of his father in 1935.
Charlie attended school in Rensselaer and enlisted in the US Navy in 1945. In 1951 he joined the US Army and served until 1953 as a Motor Pool Mechanic. From 1944 to 1992 he worked as a machinist for the D & H RR, Penn Central RR and Con Rail RR where he retired from, after 22 years. He also worked for NY Central RR as an electrician's helper. He drove truck and was a member of Teamsters Local 294. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, camping and golfing. He was a member of the West Albany Rod and Gun Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 4446 of Rensselaer, American Legion Post 1520 and a charter member of the Men's Auxiliary of VFW Post 8962 of Colonie. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Frances and his youngest daughter Charlene.
He is survived by his loving daughter Karen and her husband Philip Balan of Endicott, NY and his loving son William and his wife Tina of Ft. Meyers, Fl. Survivors also include his five grandchildren Alan, Danny, Lindsey, Lauren and Ian.

The funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours are Sunday 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to America Cancer Society.
