WYNANTSKILL - Charles R. Barnhart, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Charles was born on January 15, 1925 in Albany and was the son of the late Ernest Wesley and Ella (Richards) Barnhart. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force. He worked for Williams Press in Menands for many years before retiring. He enjoyed reading and collecting books.
Charles is survived by his sister, Carolyn Bazicki; his dear friends, Sally Powers and the Butts family and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Everett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A calling hour will be prior from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Charles.
