Charles V. Brooks

Charles Vincent Brooks, 80, passed away on March 30, 2022. His loving family surrounded him as he peacefully left this world. Chuck was a man of great joy, patience, and good humor. He lived in Westmere, NY all his life.

Chuck was a life member of the Westmere Fire Department for 40 years. He worked for McKesson and Robbins Pharmaceutical where he met the love of his life. Chuck then worked 34 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He filled his retirement by staying busy driving a bus for the Guilderland Central School District. He loved being around others and putting a smile on their faces. His free time was spent camping, spending time with the kids, and just enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Trudy. He was a proud father to Kim Whalen (Mike), Jeff Brooks (Janine), and Pam Sullivan (Bill); his grandchildren Chloe Sullivan, Michael Whalen, Ryan Whalen, and Allison Brooks. Charles is predeceased by his father Charles M. Brooks and mother Vera Brooks

Calling hours will be held on Monday April 4, 2022 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY, 12205. On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, calling hours will begin at the Funeral Home at 10:00am, with a Funeral Service starting at 10:30am. Internment to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2167 Rte 20 Western Ave, Guilderland, NY 12084.
