ALBANY – Charles "Chuck" E. Bell, 56, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
Chuck was born on November 27, 1956 at Brady Hospital in Albany and is the son of Marjorie D. (Purcell) Bell and the late George H. Bell. Chuck is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carmela I. (Cuomo) Bell and his daughter, Jessica L. Bell, who was the light of his life. Additional survivors include his sister, Karen (Robert) Jocham; his brothers, Timothy (Linda) Bell and Daniel (Lisa, deceased) Bell and 14 adoring nieces and nephews.
Chuck graduated from S.U.N.Y. Albany, magna cum laude, and in 2000 received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Marist College. Recently, he retired as a Senior Probation Officer from the U.S. Federal Probation Department.
Chuck enjoyed U.S. history, golfing, camping, cooking, parades, the Simpsons, playing his guitar, riding his Harley and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He was a great Giants fan, never giving up on them. He will be remembered for his wealth of knowledge, his quick wit, sense of humor, and his hearty laugh. He was a good, honest, and fair man who spread kindness to all. Chuck was loved by everyone he met. He had many friends including his childhood friends from Lincoln Avenue, classmates from Blessed Sacrament and Cardinal McCloskey, former co-workers from Albany County Social Services and Probation and the U.S. Federal Probations Department.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill in Albany. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
