Charles D. Putnam

ALTAMONT, NY – Charles D. Putnam, 66, passed away on Tuesday, August 09, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Duanesburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel Putnam. Charles lived in Altamont for over fifteen years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and for over thirty years worked for Union Local #7. He was a member of both the V.F.W. and American Legion in Altamont. Charles enjoyed hunting and camping with friends. He is the beloved husband of Grace (Price) Putnam. Charles is the devoted father of Star (George) Palmer, Robyn (Michael) Noyse, Adele (Laura) Overbaugh and Erika (Dave) Ludwig. Also surviving is his sister, Sylvia Somner, his brother, Richard Putnam as well as ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Community Hospice of Albany 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Charles D. Putnam.
