Albany –Charles E. Wood, 77, passed away on February 26, 2010, at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Albany on March 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Wood.
Charles was educated in the Albany public school system, and then served in the US Navy and later as a private in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Charles R. Wood and wife Barbara from Wolcott, Ct.; and grandchildren Brian and Stephanie. He is the beloved brother of Carol Lavender and the late Edward Lavender; and the uncle of David (Luanne) Lavender and Michael Lavender. Charles also leaves behind to cherish his memory his dear friend of 60 years, Thomas Gegan, and special friend Naomi Lacy.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family, per Charles' request.
